What if you forgot your identity and had to rely on other people to tell you who you were?

And what if to discover your true self, you first had to unravel a mystery so big and terrifying you were not sure you’d survive solving it?

When Marshall and Elyse wake up in each other’s arms with zero memory of how they got there or who they are, it’s the start of a long journey through their separate pasts and shared future.

Terrified by their amnesia, the two make a pact to work together to find the answers that could jog their missing memories. As they piece together clues, they discover they’re in the idyllic mountain resort town of Summer Falls, where everyone seems mysteriously happy, but as Marshall and Elyse quickly learn, darkness lurks beneath the town’s perfect facade. Not only is the town haunted by sinister ghosts, but none of its living inhabitants retain bad memories of anything—not the death of Marshall’s mom, not the hidden shame in Elyse’s family, not even the day-to-day anguish of high school.

Lonely in this world of happy zombies, Marsh and Elyse fall into an intense relationship...but the secrets they uncover could be the death of this growing love—and the death of everyone, and everything, they love in Summer Falls.

          My Thoughts:

Isn't the girl on this cover attractive? I have always been guilty of judging a book by its cover. If I see a beautiful cover, I'm going to pick it up. And that's what happen with Glimmer. I believe this is Kitanidis' third book and knowing how much I enjoyed Glimmer, I went ahead and purchased her other book called, Whispers. Plus it seems she has a lot of ghost themes with her novels and I love ghost stories.

Could you live in a world where your only memories are happy ones? You have no recollection of bad times? Well that's what you'll experience if you live in Summer Falls. In this novel, the author has you viewing the world of Summer Falls behind the eyes of Marshall and Elyse. Together they will show you how Summer Falls residents act like happy zombies and how they survive these "heat naps." Whoever said zombies are ugly, brain eater creatures, have not visited Summer Falls.

In the beginning of Glimmer I was a bit confused about the whole amnesia part. But as you continue to read, you'll understand why they ended up with it. I absolutely loved the uniqueness of Kitanidis idea of life in Summer Falls. The idea of ghosts roaming around town like they are current residents is something that intrigues me. Kitanidis definitely did her job to keep me turning the pages. Both characters grew throughout story, and the book ended perfectly. I do hope this is a standalone. I don't see where she would pick up for a sequel. Overall, I give this book 4 stars and a Good Choice for Reading.

    1. I know it's wrong and I've probably missed out on some good books. But this cover is beautiful.

  5. I think it would be pretty cool to read about ghosts in a YA novel. I haven't heard of it before, it's all about mermaids at the moment! I will definitely put it on my TBR list for the end of the year because of your review, thanks!
