My Thoughts:
This is like the third book that I have a love/hate relationship with. The book is so good on one part because of the relationship between Scarlet and the twin brothers. The chemistry between Scarlet and the brothers is what kept me reading. Even her friendship with her best friend is interesting and funny. But I feel I have to warn you all that this book has a HUGE cliffhanger. That's my hate part of this book relationship. And if anyone knows anything about how I like my endings, it's definitely NOT a cliffhanger. But since I have invested time in this book and I'm curious as to where the story is going, I will follow through the series. So I guess Chelsea Fine did her job as an author to sink me.
Anew was really a raw and emotional story about love. A love story with a tangled twist. And that's where the plot thickens. Why is Scarlet so drawn to both brothers? The relationship between her and the brothers will pull at your heartstrings. You can feel the love between the characters. I caught myself rooting for both at one time. I know it's impossible to have both brothers, but gosh, there's just so much heat between them. It's impossible to not want both. LOL.
Now here's where I have my issues. Anew has a thick and twisted plot, but as the brothers work on the main dilemma, they are constantly fighting. I mean they bickered and fought about everything! Now usually that's how sibling rivalries are, but it was a huge turn off to me. Had I been a character in the story, I would have banged their heads together. I felt it was too much. Despite the constant fighting, I did enjoy the book. I did enjoy the whole twist to it. So I do recommend this book those interested in YA love stories. I give this book a 3.5 stars!
Great review. I could probably relate to the rivalry actually. Me and my sister did NOT get along haha. I've been wanting to read this one for a while.
ReplyDeleteGiselle, maybe that's why I can't relate. My brother and sister are much older than me. So I was raised like an only child. I found their fighting so annoying. I wanted to knock their heads together.
DeleteI think this one sounds pretty good, but I'm not a patient reader and hate cliffhangers too.
ReplyDeleteThe cliffhanger was a little upsetting. But I'll definitely follow through the series. I think you should try it. It's a really interesting story.
