Interview & giveaway with author Jus Accardo!

1. What can you tell us about your latest/upcoming release?

UNTOUCHED is the first novella in the Denazen series. It’s done in Kale’s POV and
also introduces us to a new character in the series, Kiernan.

2. What was the best part about writing UNTOUCHED?

It was so much fun writing from Kale’s POV. I love giving people a glimpse of what goes on in his mind. He sees things so differently from everyone else and that just makes even the simple things ten times more interesting!

3. Looking back now, was there a scene you wish you left and/or removed from
UNTOUCHED?

Well, the finished draft changed a LOT from the original. The bad guy was UBER dark
and twisted—we had to water him down a bit. I’ll admit I’m a sucker for the dark and
twisted so I kind of miss it, but it really was necessary. There was also a particular kissy
scene that got cut. I’m debating posting it as an extra at some point in the future. Ya
know, if people are interested in that kinda thing… :P

4. If you could switch places with any of your characters, who would it be and why?

Well, it’d be awesome to swap with Dez because—well—KALE—but since my husband
might be a bit upset by that, maybe I’d like to swap with Kale. Just for a day.

Yeah, he’s had it rough, but I’d love to remember what it was like to see the world
with innocent eyes. Everything he sees is unjaded and easy. He doesn’t feel the need to
complicate things…and I think we could all do with less complicated in life!

5. Can you share a tiny sneak peek of UNTOUCHED?

I can tell you we learn a bit more about what makes Kale tick. His likes and dislikes. As it
turns out, he’s a lot more normal than he thinks himself to be. One word for you.

Clowns.

Dez to Kale : “What do we have here? Is my super hot assassin boyfriend freaked out by

clowns?”

Enough said ;)

-- Thank you, Jus, for stopping by today and answering my questions. And O-M-G that little sneak peek made me laugh out loud. I love Dez! Cannot wait to read it UNTOUCHED!

Untouched (A Denazen Novella 1.5)
Until he met Dez, Kale’s days were filled with violence and death. He was used as a weapon of destruction by the power hungry men of Denazen. He’s a Six. A person with an abnormal ability. Some people call them gifts, but not Kale. Kale’s touch means instant death.

But now there’s Dez, the girl he can touch, and they’re hunting down Sixes and warning them about Denazen. Kale is learning about the world outside captivity and trying to put his dark past behind him. But they underestimated how badly Denazen wanted him back.

When Dez sacrifices herself to save the new Six they’d rescued from falling into the corp’s hands, Kale is lost. Denazen has brought out its best to get the job done. Samsen, a nightmare from Kale’s past—the only person he’s ever truly feared—has come for them, and it soon becomes obvious he has his own twisted agenda.

Kale will need all his training to get Dez back and ensure they make it out, free—and alive. But will it be enough?

  1. I love Touch and I can't wait for Untouched. That is so funny that Kale is afraid of clowns. I personally have no fear and I don't get that fear, but I had a friend that was afraid of clowns and I would purposefully show her movies with clowns just to see her reaction, I know I'm such a terrible friend but it was so funny!

  3. Interesting how the guy was uber dark in the original draft and had to be watered down. These days it takes quite a lot to shock us but at the same time you can't go too far. I can't wait to read Touch.

  7. I can understand why the author would want to change places with Kale. I often wish I could go back and see things all over again with those innocent eyes of youth. We tend to get pretty jaded as we get older. I guess that's what kids are for, our second chance?!

  8. I like the idea of the Untouched novella being from Kale's POV. I'm always curious what each character is thinking about the same situation and we usually only get one of them.

    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  18. I like the cover and the story. I've never read your books before. It's difficult to find your book in Indonesia. It's nice to meet a new author.
I can't imagine that touching somebody means you kill that person. Is it a gift or curse? It's good to have Kale POV so we know his feeling.
