Ignorant of his true heritage, half-breed Slade Donovan is fated to feel like an outsider among his clan. Until a mysterious woman arrives with the ability to unlock his secrets—and make him crave a future he never believed he could have….

As a game warden, Raina Ravenwing has only one mission in the Cascade Mountains: to hunt down a pack of rare wolves that is terrorizing her tribe. Her instant attraction to Slade is a distraction the beautiful wolf whisperer can’t afford, unless she agrees to let him help her. Yet working so closely together only intensifies their passion…even as the unfolding truth of Slade’s identity threatens everything Raina holds sacred.

This is the third book in the series; however you do not need to read the first two to read this one. I liked how this one recovers everything that is necessary to follow the story, so that you can read it as a stand-alone book. It does help to read the first two only to get more background on the sub characters and a very small part of Slade’s past. I have to say though this was the favorite of the three books so far.

Slade has a past he can’t remember and feels like he does not really belong, but wants so badly to be part of his clan. He is portrayed as a bad boy, and what a woman does not want to have and tame a bad boy! I know I love the bad boys and always root for the underdog!

Once Slade meets Raina a game warden, he slowly uncovers the past he needed to remember. The attraction between them is almost instant and I really liked the chemistry between them. Slade tries so hard to be the bad guy and turn her away knowing that they are from two different worlds. Mixing those two worlds could cost them both to lose everything even their lives. Raina however is so strong willed and not willing to bend just because someone says too. She has her own opinion and will fight for what she believes in.

Over the course of the book and unveiling of Slade’s past, you can’t help but fall in love with him. I just wanted to crawl in the book and snuggle up to Slade! Slade is a sexy bad boy you need a part of!

4 out of 5 stars

  4. I probably would not have picked up this book based on the cover, but the synopsis and how you described the book sounds like a good story. The characters also sound like ones that can be connected with easily.
