Double Clutch Blog Tour: Character Interview, Brenna.

You like creating designs for t-shirts, is this something you see yourself doing as a career?

Definitely! I’d love to keep learning about art and fashion, and maybe even get an internship over the summer so I could learn more about it. Right now I’m having so much fun, but I don’t really know much about all the different techniques there are.

Describe your life in six words?

Oh, that’s hard! Um, let me think. One is family. Two is art. Three is running. Four would be friends. Five, um, I think, would be travel. And six? Six is romance. I’m pretty lucky, because I have the world’s coolest boyfriend, so I get swept off my feet a lot, and I love that!

Do you think that getting involved in a relationship would interfere with your future education plan?

I’m nervous about that. I’m definitely going to college, and I want to really focus on school and making friends. I think it might be hard to do that if you had a boyfriend, even if he was really supportive. But I also think that if two people really care about each other, they can make it work, and I don’t like to give up on people I really care about! So I hope that I can have a relationship and pursue all my education plans.

Do you feel having "FA" in your life has helped you grow into the person you are today?

Absolutely! I am so happy to have him, because I feel like some people get stuck with these awful fathers who make their lives hard. But I lucked out, because Fa kind of found Mom and I and changed our lives for the better. He’s the best father any girl could want, and I’m so glad he’s my dad.

Do you think Saxon and Jake will ever be friends again?

There is nothing I want more. I think they don’t see how much they’re alike! I care about both of them so much, and I truly feel that they would be happier if they could let go of all the stuff in their past and just be friends again. Maybe it will happen! They’ve both grown up a lot, and I think they realize that there’s no reason to hold on to old grudges. I think it’s just a matter of time!

About the author:

Liz Reinhardt was born and raised in the idyllic beauty of northwest NJ. A move to the subtropics of coastal Georgia with her daughter and husband left her with a newly realized taste for the beach and a bloated sunscreen budget that exist right alongside an intense longing for the bagels and fast-talking foul mouths of her youth. She loves Raisinettes, even if they aren’t really candy, the Oxford comma, movies that are hilarious or feature zombies, any and all books, but especially romance (the smarter and hotter, the better), the sound of her daughter’s incessantly wise and entertaining chatter, and watching her husband work on cars in the driveway. About Double Clutch:
What happens when you fall in love with the perfect guy...twice...in one day?

Brenna Blixen spent her freshman year homeschooling in Denmark; now that she's back in the States, she's determined to make her sophomore year unforgettable. And by unforgettable, she imagined awesome classes, fun friendships, and maybe a little romance.

What she got was a whole lot of romance, and all at once.

The same day that dark, brooding Saxon Maclean charmed her with his killer good looks and whip-smart wit, Jake Kelly stole her breath away with his heart-wrenching smile and intelligent, thoughtful focus.

But Saxon is a proud player who makes it clear that he doesn't know why he can't get Brenna off of his mind and out of his system, and Jake's sweet and humble attitude hides a secret past life that might be more darker and more complex than Brenna's willing to handle.

Complicating the matter is the fact that Saxon and Jake were once best friends and are now arch-enemies...and the more Brenna finds out about their connection to each other, the more intrigued and worried she becomes.

Between keeping the peace with her lovingly over-protective parents, designing t-shirts for her high school's rising punk band, keeping up her grades in both academic and technical high school, and running the track like a maniac, Brenna has enough to worry about with out juggling two guys who make her heart thud and drive her crazy all at once.

She has to make a choice. But how can she when giving her heart to one of them might mean breaking the other's?

  2. A fun interview for a fantastic book! I had to laugh, though, because I missed the character interview part and thought the author was being interviewed. The summer internship bit really threw me! Then I thought, "Why wouldn't an author get to have an internship? They definitely should if they want to learn about something!"
