Do You Believe in Second Chances?

I want to laugh and say that is a silly question, but I guess not everyone is me. You see, I’m not perfect. Most of the time, I never get things right the first time. Usually, I’m the one that repeats the mantra, “Practice makes perfect.” But what if it was in regards to something that you would never be able to fix?

I believe that second chances are essential in life. For everything. Especially relationships.

How often do you get to correct a wrong and make it right?

Second Chances are gifts. They’re so rare that when you see one, you should definitely jump at it. (Well, as long as you know that it’s not going to make you regret it or live with more remorse everyday of your life. Like me getting back together with my ex. Now that would be a nightmare and a second chance I would gladly give up.) But what about the people that deserve these gifts?

If you’ve ever read any of my books, you’ll know that I live by second chances. They’re like magic. And also the best type of stories to write.

In True Connections, Lia returns to her hometown and is thrown into an awkward dilemma with her nemesis. All their life, they’ve learned to hate each other…but the other side of the coin is love, right? When a second chance opportunity arises, they both knew they would be stupid not to grab it…except it all became too much. That’s when you realize it’s time to iron out the reason why it didn’t work the first time and all the secrets surface. Well, for Max and Lia, they had their grandmothers to thank for that. The old biddies certainly knew what they were doing!

As a romance author, I’m always seeking the happily-ever-after. I don’t believe a story should be without one. The chance to fix a wrong and make it right is a miracle.

So do you have something that you wish you had a second chance for?

Blurb:
Lia McEvil is back in town, and Max is in trouble.

Max Sheraton and Lia McEvers have been rivals since childhood. Not even the kiss that chased Lia away could make them stop fighting. Now, five years later, Lia's back in her hometown of Grant to open a new branch of her matchmaking business, True Connections--and Max finds himself in the line of fire when their families conspire for Max to make a connection of his own. Under pressure from both their grandmothers, Lia and Max embark on a scheme to find Max a suitable match, but it doesn't take a compatibility profile to tell the real connection is between Max and Lia. Between sizzlingly hot kisses that turn into tempestuous fights, their attraction turns explosive enough to break down the antagonism between them.

But Lia has a secret that's chased her home...and that may be the one thing that can stop Lia and Max from making the true connection they so desperately crave.

  1. I love books about second chances. I married young and divorced in 1997 after 12 years and 3 children together. The good thing is that my ex and I have a good relationship. I had no desire to ever marry again, but as fate would have, I was wrong. I reconnected with an old high school friend in 2000' and now we have been married for 12 years. So I guess that was my second chance. Very happy with my life and love. Thanks!

  3. Hi Clarissa, I absolutely love the idea of second chances, but I've been with the same guy for a long, long time, so it's not really an issue. Now, if we ever fall out,I'll be going after him again for my second chance so fast... (is that him leaning over my shoulder?)

  7. I didn't' used to believe in second chances because I didn't think people could change. I realize that's caused by feelings of bitterness and wanting to protect ourselves against further hurt. Still, it's wonderful when we can give second, third and fourth chances and be genuinely hurt and surprised when someone screws up instead of lashing out with an "I knew it!" I think there's something incredibly romantic about second chances, about having to wait for something so special.

    1. I think it's a hit or miss. But I know what you mean. Sometimes my gut tells me it's a bad idea, but when that second chance turns out too good to be true, it's always nice to believe the best. Thanks for stopping by!

  9. my second chance doesn't have anything about boys or love but, i'm a big believer in second chances because i might not be alive otherwise. i was in a very serious car accident a year and a half ago and i was obviously given a second chance at life since even one of my surgeons still says i shouldn't be alive : )
your book sounds awesome with the whole love/hate relationship happening. i can't wait to read it : )

  11. I wish that I had a second chance at my life. I wish I could go back to when I was a kid and start over, do things differently. Of course, without knowing what I needed to do differently I would probably make the same mistakes. Then again, I think my biggest problem was that I never felt loved so I grew up thinking that no-one could love me. It's a very self-destructive way to think.

Well anyway, thank you for the chance to win your book!

  12. I do believe in second chances for some things, but I can't think of anything significant that I would want a second chance because I try not to live with any regrets and believe that everything happens for a reason. Maybe I would go back to high school and get better grades:)

I have just started my own blog MoonShineArtSpot.Blogspoy.com and wonder if you have any free ebooks, or print books you would allow me to review there. I am trying to gain reviews and content before I advertise the blog. I am also hoping to publish my own children's book by the end of the year. Some of the writers I have contacted this far have also offered to do interviews. Thank you for your consideration.

  16. As the author said so herself I almost never get the things right the first time I try. I need second chances, so therefore I give them myself as well. However, I do not give out a third, and I do not expect to receive them myself!
