Ghosts harass and annoy Tess to save their souls. Sometimes she helps them. Other times she ignores them. But one ghost will give her no choice. Kipp, a former cop with the Memphis Police Department, will stop at nothing to gain her help, including using his ghostly charms to seduce her.
Tess must help solve the five-year-old cold case of Hannah Reid’s disappearance, because solving the case will save Kipp. But a bigger problem presents itself. Tess is falling in love with a ghost. Now she must decide. Keep Kipp forever, or find the killer.
This was a quick read book that I had done in a few hours. I found some of the story was really interesting while some just seemed to drag on. I liked that Tess was willing to look crazy talking to herself in public to a ghost no one can see when she was mad. Tess is a very strong willed woman with a strong personality that would not let a man boss her around. Speaking of strong willed I think her best friend is a riot!
I also liked the idea of Kipp returning from the dead, not only to solve his own murder, but that of a cold case he was working on, that got him killed in the first place. As a cop even in the afterlife he had the need to finish what he started and really wanted answers to his case.
But the idea of a person in love with a ghost bugged me a little and I found it a bit weird. Knowing they can never kiss or touch, they let their imagination run wild and they do what is necessary to please each other.
Looking for a quick story to read in a day this is it. I am also interested to see where the series goes after this.

I have this on my list because the premise of a ghostly cop and a 'can't happen' romance had me intrigued.
ReplyDeleteThe concept of ghost lovies is somewhat questionable. Without a corporeal body then everything would be in her mind. I for one could want a lover in the flesh but I am sure that the book must break this down somewhat. I enjoyed the review and now I need to find myself a copy. Thank you!
