Six years ago, Alexis Baptiste's world was turned upside down when Hunter Cassidy disappeared without a trace, leaving her alone and pregnant. She's finally moving on with her life when he resurfaces, just in time to rescue her from a would-be assassin. Forced to join him on the run to protect herself and her young son, Alexis is now in even more danger: danger of falling for Hunter all over again. Betrayed by rogue CIA agents after infiltrating an infamous drug cartel, former DEA agent Hunter Cassidy has spent years trying to clear his name. He's not proud of the things he's done, and knows he doesn't deserve a future with Alexis, or the son he never knew he had, but he's determined to protect them from the men who ruined his life. Convincing Alexis to trust him—and denying his feelings for her—is going to be the hardest mission he's ever faced.
I love a book that is about second chances. Doesn’t everyone want a second change to fix what they did wrong with the one we love? I know if it were me I would jump at the chance to redo the past and correct my mistakes.

Hunter had a choice to make six years ago, was it the right one? He thought so. Alexis however, felt he could have done things different. I love how they both are still in love with each other after six years of being apart. This makes me believe in true love and we can see it clearly in these characters. The action is great too! I felt like I was questioning everyone and trying to solve the mystery before the answer was revealed. I love trying to think I know who did it, and this book I was wrong! That to me is a good suspense thriller.

The only thing I did not like was that felt Jonathon the five year old was a little to advance in the way he spoke sometimes. It was easy enough to get past since the rest of the book was really good.

Overall this was a great book with great characters you can really connect with. I enjoyed the suspense, the romance and most of all the development of the story. It was spaced just right and everything happened in a reasonable fashion.

4 out of 5 stars!
