TQOTD - Favorite E-Reader?

As the holiday season fast approaches, I know that most of you (like me) are probably sitting there daydreaming about the kinds of fun gifts you'll get this year - including...just maybe...a new e-reader?

Well not me! I have my original kindle (remember when they were like $300!) and I love it. I think all the latest ones look good, but why fix something that ain't broke? I still am interested though, in which e-readers everyone else is in love with.

Thursday's Question of The Day: Which e-reader is your absolute favorite?

Let me know!

  1. I still do not have an e-reader but I'm hoping to get one soon. I can't make up my mind between Kindle and the Nook. Not only that I can't decide whether or not I should just get the basic model or go with the new Fire or Nook Color. There's a big price difference so I'm leaning toward the basic models. I know next to nothing about e-readers except I want one...My instant gratification syndrome when it comes to wanting a book could then be appeased. (0: I would love to see some recommendations.

  3. I prefer the Nook. I have the Simple Touch and it's awesome.

The main thing that had me picking the Nook was that you aren't tied in to one store. You can purchase ebooks from virtually everywhere and they're compatible on the Nook. But with Kindle you can only buy from Amazon. And I hate Amazon. So there-easy peasy.

  4. Me too! :D I think I'm getting an e-reader for the holidays, but my brother (the messenger) keeps asking me which one is better but I'm not sure! lol
But so far, I leaning toward the Nook. :)

  5. So far I've had a Sony and a Nook Color. The Nook Color is the best by far. I'm in love with my e-reader and wouldn't trade it for a different one unless it was the New Nook Tablet...which is pretty much the same thing.

  6. I'm definitely going to go with the Nook. It was really my inclination from the beginning due to Amazon locking you in to only their store. Your comments are exactly what I was hoping to see. Thanks!

  8. I have the first version of the Nook but it does have glitches and problems so I asked for a new simple touch Nook for xmas. Fingers are crossed that I get it. :)

  9. I have the Nook Touch and I love it. They have recently upgraded the software and it's even better than when I got it 4 months ago. The pages turn quickly and the words and pictures are very clear. I love that it has a super long battery. I can easily go on vacation and read a book a day without having to recharge. They say the battery will last 2 months but I would guess it's closer to a week or two when you read constantly. It's also easily rooted which was a big selling point for me. I haven't done it but it's always an option if I ever discover that I absolutely have to be able to read a mobi book.
