BLOG TOUR & W.O.W CONTEST: DESTINED by Jessie Harrell

Today is GCR's stop on the Destined blog tour.  As you may know, we are hosting the tour and are excited about the novel because...

1. Beautiful COVER!
2. Who doesn't love a good Greek Mythology story? Especially one with a GREAT LOVE STORY!
3. Jessie Harrell just rocks!

If you haven't heard about Jessie Harrell's debut novel yet, here's the official blurb:

GOODREADS
Paperback
Expected publication: November 17th 2011
Mae Day Publishing

When Psyche receives a prophecy gone horribly wrong, she learns that even the most beautiful girl in Greece can have a hideous future. Her fate? Fall in love with the one creature even the gods fear.

As she feels herself slipping closer into the arms of the prophecy, Psyche must choose between the terrifyingly tender touch she feels almost powerless to resist and the one constant she's come to expect out of life: you cannot escape what is destined.

Destined is a fresh and heartachingly romantic retelling of the Cupid & Psyche myth from debut novelist, Jessie Harrell.

Today on our tour stop, we get to tell you about a contest that could win you the first of three "official Destined prize packs" that will be given away on the tour.  The prize pack comes complete with an autographed ARC of Destined, an autographed bookmark, a Destined notepad and Psyche's ring (size 7 or 8).  So how do you win all this cool swag?  By entering the WOW Contest - Waiting on Wednesday.

Many of us are familiar with the Waiting on Wednesday meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.  Each Wednesday, bloggers give a little shout out to a book that they're eagerly anticipating.  Well, Good Choice Reading may not be "waiting" to read Destined any more (since we got an ARC and all), but we know most of you still have 8 days left to go before the book releases.  You can either participate TODAY or next Wednesday, November 16th, by making Destined your one and only W.O.W. pick on your blog.  Simply create a W.O.W. post for the novel and then add your blog to the linky list below.  Everyone who participates AND leaves their link by midnight November 16th will be entered to win. Winner will be selected using random.org. **US ONLY** It's that easy.

And for more chances to win a copy of DESTINED, make sure to check out the past and upcoming stops on this tour. All you have to do is leave a comment on each blog, and that will automatically enter you. Jessie will then go through all the comments and pick ONE winner. YES, from EVERY tour stop! :-)

When I was in grade school my first book picks were ALWAYS mythology - Greece, Japan, Ireland, etc, for some reason the combination of legend & history fascinated me and I continue to love reading it to this day [... MANY days/years/decades later lol]

Psyche is such a lovely name!! I was hooked on Destined as soon as I saw that cover and learned it involved Cupid *heart* :D

  7. Now that I think of it, it is surprising that the Psyche myth hasn't been done more often before because it definitely fits well within the YA and middle grade genres. I'm quite curious to see what the author does with this!

    Thank you for the giveaway!
