Review: Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

UNDER THE NEVER SKY BY VERONICA ROSSI
Paperback, 384 pages
Expected publication: February 7th 2012 by HarperTeen
Exiled from her comfortable home in the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland—known as The Death Shop—are slim. In Reverie, she spent time with her friends roaming virtual environments called Realms. But in The Death Shop, even the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He’s wild—a savage. He’s also her only hope for survival.

A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry sees Aria as sheltered and fragile—everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he also needs Aria’s help; she alone holds the key to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, they come together reluctantly, and embark on a journey challenged as much by their prejudices as by cannibals and wolves. Their unlikely alliance will forever change the fate of all who live UNDER THE NEVER SKY.

Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi is an amazing and intense story! I absolutely love the world Rossi sucked me into; I never wanted to leave it. From her writing to the characters, everything was just absolutely brilliant.

Aria is banished from her home for making the wrong decision. Thrown into a world that she has no idea what it’s like, except for what she was told, Aria learns it’s either live or die. She chooses to live and decides that she will fix this and she will have her life back. Aria meets Perry, a Savage. Perry is angry with Aria’s kind and isn’t afraid to hurt her feelings. Perry needs Aria and even though Aria doesn’t know this at first, she too needs Perry. When they realize that they are both after basically the same thing, they decide to help each other out.

Under the Never Sky is told from two points of views, Perry’s and Aria’s. I am so happy that Rossi wrote it this way because it was so nice getting inside the head of Perry. He is definitely swoon worthy. I fell in love with all the characters, but to me Aria is definitely my favorite. She was strong and a fighter. She didn’t take the situation lightly and was very eager to find out the truth about everything. She started out as an average teen and turned into a kick-ass character. Perry starts off having no interest at all in Aria and makes it clear he is only using her to get where he needs to be. They were both taught to pretty much hate each other’s kind, but somewhere down the line they learn to respect each other and even fall in love. They discovered a whole new side to themselves through each other. It was beautiful! I loved their relationship. It wasn’t rushed and their emotions gave me goose bumps. I felt like I was going through everything they were with them, the good and the bad. There is so much more though than just Perry and Aria’s beautiful romance. It’s just FANTASTIC!

Please, do yourself the favor and pre-order Under the Never Sky. This is a must-have, must-read book. It’s unpredictable and filled with lots of jaw dropping moments. Some scenes were very raw and intense. Loved it!

Oh, and to convince you some more that you should add Under the Never Sky to your TBR pile... it has been optioned by Warner Bros. Yay!

I am sure you guessed… 10 out of 5 Stars! Yes, that good!
