The Mephisto Covenant took me by surprise. It's yet another one of those books that was sitting on my bookshelf screaming "READ ME!" So I finally took everyone's advice and picked it up. I say it took me by surprise because I jumped into it thinking it somehow had to do with Angels, but it was so much more than that. I got a lot more than I was expecting and loved every page.

My heart was aching for Sasha. Her life was completely taken away from her and she goes through some very scary moments. She wakes up one morning and all at once, everything that can possibly go wrong, goes wrong. I felt really bad for her. And throughout the whole book she continues to lose more and more. When she meets Jax, things are explained a bit, but she still has so many questions. She tries really hard to understand everything and why they keep happening to her. It was so sad at times, but it only made her stronger and made me like her even more. I also really liked that Faegen did not waste any time jumping into the story. Sometimes you don’t find things out until the very end of a book, but in The Mephisto Covenant everything is just laid out from beginning to end.

The Mephisto Covenant sucks you into a dark world of good and evil, a little mystery, and betrayal. There are lots of shocking moments and a sweet and delightful romance that develops between two powerful characters. Faegen did not hold back when it came to Jax and Sasha. That to me made the story very believable and easy to relate to the characters. It was great and I hope there will be a sequel.

Note: I feel I should add that The Mephisto Covenant has a descriptive sex scene for being Young Adult. It’s not a long or dragged out scene, but it’s enough to go “O-M-G” LOL. There is also a lot of talk about sex and subjects that would make this book for a much more mature audience. I wasn’t bothered by it at all, but I am also not a teen lol.
