Where do you go when nowhere is safe?
Sixteen years after a deadly virus wiped out most of Earth’s population, the world is a perilous place. Eighteen-year-old Eve has never been beyond the heavily guarded perimeter of her school, where she and two hundred other orphaned girls have been promised a future as the teachers and artists of the New America. But the night before graduation, Eve learns the shocking truth about her school’s real purpose—and the horrifying fate that awaits her.
Fleeing the only home she’s ever known, Eve sets off on a long, treacherous journey, searching for a place she can survive. Along the way she encounters Arden, her former rival from school, and Caleb, a rough, rebellious boy living in the wild. Separated from men her whole life, Eve has been taught to fear them, but Caleb slowly wins her trust . . . and her heart. He promises to protect her, but when soldiers begin hunting them, Eve must choose between true love and her life.
In this epic new series, Anna Carey imagines a future that is both beautiful and terrifying. Readers will revel in Eve’s timeless story of forbidden love and extraordinary adventure.

Dee's thoughts...

It seems that dystopian novels are becoming the next big thing. They're just so much fun to read. I've read about six dystopian novels this year, and they have all been amazing. Eve is another book to add to that list. It was SO good and I am a little upset it took me so long to read it. I enjoyed it a lot and finished it in one sitting. There were times I found myself a little scared while reading. The world Anna Carey sucks you into is just crazy and you can easily picture it in your head. It's not hard to put yourself in Eve's shoes and see the world through her eyes. I mean, I can easily see our world becoming hers. It's actually pretty scary.

Eve is a strong character and you can tell this from just the first couple of pages. All her life she has basically lived in a box and has never stepped outside of it. All she knows is what she was taught. She is proud of herself and is looking forward to her bright future. But Eve finds out the hard way that her world is all a lie and that her bright future isn't what she thinks it is. Everything she was ever taught was twisted and changed. So many things happen that lead to Eve's escape. Once outside the box, she learns what life is really about and just how cruel the world truly is. But not once did she feel like giving up. She kept going and was very strong through it all. She even found out what "love" was really like.

Caleb is also a runaway and trying to survive. He was kind and caring and even though he didn't have too, he helped Eve through a lot. Caleb also has a rough past, but he has always known that the world wasn't always peaches and cream. Caleb and Eve eventually fall for one another, but it's the way that they fall that I really liked. It wasn't something that was rushed and it was developed at a really nice pace.

Eve is full of great characters, one heck of a scary world with one major hottie, a beautiful romance and lots of action! Only thing I would have changed was the ending. I wasn't to thrilled with it, but I am excited to read the next book in the series and see how they've all ended up. A Good Choice for Reading.

4 out of 5 Stars!

Wanda's thoughts...

This book was amazing! In this dystopian world, Anna draws you in immediately. You don't have to wait too long into the story to get sucked in. In this dystopian society, the world has been affected by the plague. And as a result the children weren't affected were sent to school while others were sent to do hard labor. This book was so good that it's so easy to imagine it as a movie. Every line in this book was a scene in my head. Anna has you rooting for her characters. Many times I've caught myself so lost in her story that it almost felt like I was a third person in the book just watching what's happening.

Eve is about to graduate high school and head on out to continue her education. But what she doesn't know is that her life is about to change drastically. Her whole life she has been brainwashed into believing that men are no good. The school programmed these girls to have no faith in men. They twist history around to make it seem like men are evil. And their plans for these girls future is not what the girls think will be. That is until Eve takes control of her own life and makes one drastic life altering decision.

In Eve's decision to escape from her school, she soon discovers that she's been lied to her whole life. Now that she's out in the "real world", she bumps into a rival student from her school and begins to travel this journey together. That is until they bump in Caleb. Being naive and brainwashed Eve was hesitant about trusting anyone in the male gender, But what choice does she really have, when her survival skills are none and Caleb is risking his safety to help them.

As the story continues, you see Eve maturing enough so that she can start trusting Caleb and not be so close minded. You see their relationship blossom. And I liked the way the author wrote their relationship. She didn't rush it and it wasn't too slow. It was enough to know that Eve is slowly breaking out the "Trust No Men" mentality enough to allow Caleb in. Though I'm not a fan of the ending I still think that book was amazing. This book was really well written, lots of action and just enough "aww" moments to make it a great success when it hits shelves. Another hit in the "Dystopian" genre. A Definite Must Read! I give this book a 4 stars! So make sure you go out and get it when it hit the shelves!
