Guest Post By Romance Author Andrew Grey

I began writing just over four years ago and I fell in love. I write about things that interest me so many of my characters and situations revolve around antiques, gardening, art, and the outdoors. My partner and I have been together for over seventeen years and he provides the support I need so that I’m able to write. I am very lucky in that I have had an ongoing romance with one man for nearly two decades. He is a part of every story I write. I’m often asked where I get the inspiration for my stories and that’s a very easy question, life. I use many of my own experiences, at home and abroad, as well as the art and nature around me as inspiration.

I have written almost twenty five novels and many of them are in various series.

The Farm series takes place around a farm in Michigan where I grew up. These stories are pastoral in nature, but with some of the most amazing characters I’ve ever written. They also have the only Amish characters I’ve ever written.

The Bottled Up series takes place largely around a wine store in Milwaukee. These stories started because I was inspired by my brother’s wine store opening. There will be at least three more stories in this series, Legal Artistry, Artistic Appeal, and Artistic Pursuits which I recently finished. The later books have moved away from the wine store scene, but many of the characters make an appearance.

The workout series takes place around the gym I use outside Harrisburg. All the stories are rather sexy and center around really hunky men. One of the themes I love to use in this series is the fact that beauty is only skin deep. So it’s often the shy quiet, mousy guy that gets the hunk.

The satyr series is a bit of modern fantasy set in northern Michigan around a small community of satyrs. In the stories, they form and build the community so they can have a small piece of the world where they can be safe. In these books, being gay is generally no big deal. But if a satyr trusts you enough to reveal himself, that’s the metaphor for the coming out process.
The Range series is my western series and the Love series is set around a Belgian restaurant in Carlisle Pennsylvania. These stories were inspired by my partner who was a pastry chef for many years. Dominic says love with food, so I wrote these stories for him.

The favorite of all my stories is Seven Days. While I was writing this story, my main character, Evan, wormed his way into my heart and has never left. Seven Days tells the story of Evan ‘s life as pictured through seven pivotal days. These days take place over sixteen years. This story was a challenge because of the vast emotions packed into the story. each o fthe seven days is a turning point for Evan with both a high and a low. Writing those emotions took a great deal of my own emotional energy.
