Jane Austen, Shatter Me & True Blood!

This Saturday we have three pieces of news for you!

True Blood Novels Coming to an End!

I know this one's really going to make my best friend upset. She is obsessed with these novels!!

On Wednesday, July 13, Charlaine Harris, author of the True Blood novels has said that the 13th book will be the last.

But don't worry - just because the books are coming to an end doesn't mean that the popular HBO series has any plans on doing the same.

Cover of Shatter Me, Revealed!!

I'm sure Blogs all around the world are putting this up on their Cover Love pages. The cover for Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi has been revealed and it is gorgeous to say the least!

I am definitely excited to get my hands on this book! Here's the synopsis:

Juliette hasn't touched anyone in exactly 264 days. The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette's touch is fatal. As long as she doesn't hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old-girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don't fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she's exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

Shatter Me is expected to be published on November 15, 2011 by Harper Teen

"Lost" Jane Austen Novel Auctioned for 1 Million Euros

Talk about REALLY wanting a book, lol!

A hand-written novel by Jane Austen, that was never published because of a family tragedy, has been sold to an anonymous bidder for 1 million Euro - approximately 1.3 million dollars!

The book is said to be Jane Austen's most autobiographical novel as Emma, the heroine of the novel, is headstrong and indepedent-minded, just like the author herself.

So what do you think GCReaders? Are you upset about the True Blood novels coming to an end? Are you totally in love with the cover of Shatter Me!? And would you have paid over $1 million for a Jane Austen novel??

LET ME KNOW!!!!

  1. While I love the Sookie books, I think it's time for them to be done. The last few just haven't been as good to me.

I also cannot wait for Shatter Me!!

And if I had over $1 million to spend on fun things I would definitely have gotten Austen's novel. She is absolutely amazing!

  3. Sad about the Sookie books, but I have been thinking maybe it's time for them to have a resolution for the last couple books now. And the last one kind of left it hanging between here and Eric! Ack!

I agree... for some lost Jane Austen novel, 1 million doesn't seem like a lot - compared to what those rich people spend on Other Stuff.
