Gabriel and Shay are convinced that they can make their relationship work. Knowing that Shay is half-vampire, Gabriel thinks that his coven will embrace her as one of their own, but instead they view her as an abomination, a thing that doesn’t belong in either world. And they want her dead. Now Gabriel must make the ultimate decision - watch his love be killed by his coven or defy the people closest to him, the people he has spent centuries with to save her.

Sacrifice is an AMAZING sequel to Crave. I remember reading Crave and loving it so much, and the ending was just WOW. One of my concerns was that Sacrifice wouldn't pick up right where it left off. I've read some books that had a really shocking cliffhanger, and when you read the second book it takes place days later or hours later. Well not Sacrifice! Melinda Metz and L.J. Burns continue right where they left off. You are immediately sucked back into Gabriel and Shay's world. Sacrifice leaves you with your mouth open and at the edge of your seat just about every chapter. I felt so bad for them both. The way Gabriel loves Shay will give you goosebumps all over. The struggles he goes through trying to decide between Love and Family, broke my heart.

There were also some really good shocking and unpredictable moments. I don't want to give anything away, but let me just say that Metz and Burns really know how to keep you glued to the pages. I actually read this book in a day because it was one thing after another and I just couldn't put it down. I did have one or two issues with the book, but nothing serious. I was just really upset at some of the decisions Shay makes. I felt it was very immature and with everything she has been through you'd think she would have known better. My other issue was how easy it was for them to save Gabriel. But you will have to read the book to find out what I am talking about.

In the end, this was a great sequel with a little bit of everything in it, but most of all LOVE. I enjoyed Sacrifice a lot more than Crave, and I loved Crave so you can only imagine. Sacrifice has a happy ending that left room for a possible third book, but it can also end there. I personally, hope there is a third book. I can't get enough of Gabriel!

4 out of 5 Stars!

  2. Nice to know that SACRIFICE will live up to my expectations! :) I wasn't the happiest with CRAVE, but it seems like SACRIFICE will be a good catch. :D
