THURSDAY'S QUESTION OF THE DAY

I don't know about you, but when I get to a bookstore, I am almost always overwhelmed by the sheer number of books, sections, and authors out there. How could you possibly choose...how in the world do you know if one book is better than another?

That's where GoodChoiceReading and so many other blogs come in. We're here to help readers decide what they should (and sometimes should NOT) get at the bookstore. The dilemma? There are now so many book review blogs, that I'm starting to get overwhelmed by them too! LOL

So, Thursday's Question has a few parts: how many book blogs do you follow? What makes certain blogs better than others? And what can GCR doing to make sure you love us for life?

LET ME KNOW!!!!

  1. hahah Maria I love you! LOL "Love us for Life"

It's funny you brought this up because I was talking with a friend last night about how many book blogs are out there... it's pretty big list lol

  2. I'm going to be totally honest. I follow quite at bit of book blogs, because I am still a little new to the book blogging world, so the more blogs I read, the more comfortable I feel with my own. Sort of learning the ropes.

The ones I read the most often though are the ones that I get feedback from. Is that mean of me? I mean there are a few that have over 3,000 followers and of course I don't expect any feedback or convos from them, but still so much to read. It's like reading the daily paper, ya know?

So, the blogs I'm closest with are the ones that comment back, or follow in return and I feel that because of that we build a bloggin buddy relationship. :-)

  3. Hey Terra,

I agree with you 100%. I try to respond back to those who leave a comment on our blog, but I do most of my chatting back and forth on twitter. I follow way to many blogs to leave a comment on everyones :-( but lately I've been trying to change that.

    Thanks for the input.

  4. I always try to respond back to all my comments. But as far as me going to other blogs, I don't do it often because I swear I offer from Adult Attention Deficit Disorder and when I turn on my computer to do something, always end up getting distracted. Sorry.

  5. I'm sorry, I don't keep a count on book blogs I read.
I like book blogs that review my kind of books, where the reviews are good - written by someone who loves to read, knows what she (or he) speaks about, speaks a bit outside the book, like for example mentioning historical happenings the book reminds her of, or how the book was specifically good to read at this moment, because...
I like to read a story.
I like to hear which other books this one is like "if you liked a and b, you might like c".
One of the best tools for picking books I know are the Amazon.com suggestions, that are based very much on which other books the buyers bought.
I also like to like the look of the blog I read :-D I know it's petty, but it's important. I'm an aesthet :-) I like pictures to illustrate the blog entries :-)
