Review: Wolfsbane By Andrea Cremer

Expected publication: July 26th 2011 by Penguin Group (USA)
ISBN1101517107
(ISBN13:97811015179)
This thrilling sequel to the much-talked-about Nightshade begins just where it ended-Calla Tor wakes up in the lair of the Searchers, her sworn enemy, and she's certain her days are numbered. But then the Searchers make her an offer-one that gives her the chance to destroy her former masters and save the pack-and the man-she left behind. Is Ren worth the price of her freedom? And will Shay stand by her side no matter what? Now in control of her own destiny, Calla must decide which battles are worth fighting and how many trials true love can endure and still survive.

My Thoughts:

When I heard Good Choice Reading had an ARC copy of "Wolfsbane", I nearly flipped. I absolutely loved "Nightshade" and couldn't wait for it's sequel "Wolfsbane" to be released. Now that I read "Wolfsbane", I can't wait for the next book which is called "Bloodrose," which is described on Goodreads as "Is true love worth the ultimate sacrifice?" Being that I know what the ending was about, I can't wait to see what happens in "Bloodrose." This one should be an exciting read. But then again what read isn't, when it involves a love triangle?

So in "Nightshade" you have your main characters, Calla, Ren and Shay. Yay Team Shay! LOL but in "Wolfsbane" you have a whole new set of characters. The Searchers. I fell in love with one specific searcher named "Connor" who was just too funny. I literally laughed out loud quite a few times with him.

Anyway, so Calla and Shay find themselves in the Searchers facility and what they are doing there is basically what the whole story is about. They are there to find out the truth about their history. And the Searchers  are there to educate them and inform them about the lies and misconception.

But more things come into play with Calla and Shay. For Calla, its about doing whats right for her pack and about the two men in her life. She is torn between two men who loves her and wants to be with her. And the thing is, she loves them both. Those who read "Nightshade" can tell she was conflicted between Ren and Shay, and that story doesn't change much in this one. She's basically in love with both in my opinion. Now I can carry on about why Shay (to me) is the better partner for her. But a debate is not what I'm here for. For Shay, he's the Scion. He has to learn about how he became who he was and what he's capable of doing. So much comes into play with his story in this book.

Okay so the book is awesome! Period. No doubt Andrea Cremer has created a masterpiece. HOWEVER, here's what I didn't like about this book. I had a hard time following whose, who, their position and powers. I tend to get confused with that. So it kinda felt like I had to study a little bit because in order for me to continue my story, I had to understand who these characters were. That's it. For most of you, you probably won't have that problem.

Overall this is a great book! I give it 4 1/2 stars just because of the whole too many characters. But if that doesn't bother you, then I'm sure you'll give it 5 stars. I can't wait for "Bloodrose." And I know it's out there because some girl on goodreads is bragging about how she read it. So I need to know how to get my hands on an ARC of that. I really loved "Wolfsbane", action was non-stop, the love is there between the character and her two love interests and other good subplots! It's a MUST (wait) buy, MUST read! And a Definite Good Choice for Reading!

  6. I think they going to keep the other one. I really don't like the other one like this one. Don't you wish readers can vote for covers? That's an idea to throw to the publishers.
