Review: Timeless by Alexandra Monir

When tragedy strikes Michele Windsor’s world, she is forced to uproot her life and move across the country to New York City, to live with the wealthy, aristocratic grandparents she’s never met. In their old Fifth Avenue mansion filled with a century’s worth of family secrets, Michele discovers a diary that hurtles her back in time to the year 1910. There, in the midst of the glamorous Gilded Age, Michele meets the young man with striking blue eyes who has haunted her dreams all her life – a man she always wished was real, but never imagined could actually exist. And she finds herself falling for him, into an otherworldly, time-crossed romance.

Michele is soon leading a double life, struggling to balance
her contemporary high school world with her escapes into the past. But when she stumbles upon a terrible discovery, she is propelled on a race through history to save the boy she loves – a quest that will determine the fate of both of their lives.

Every girl dreams of meeting her Mr. Right, a
nd living happily ever after. But what happens when the guy you're suppose to be with lives a hundred years in the past?

For as long as she can remember, Michele has had dreams of a handsome boy whom she has never met. Always wondering who he was and what the dreams meant, Michele thought she might never get an answer.

Michele never knew her father, he myste
riously left when her mom got pregnant with her. And she grew up estranged from her grandparents, so her whole life it was her mom and herself. They were more then mother and daughter, they were best friends too. Marion was the only person Michele let read her song lyrics, the only person she trusted other then her friends. But one day something terrible happens and Michele is forced to move across the country from California to New York, to live with the grandparents she never knew.

Michele was aware that her grandparents were
wealthy, and that the Windsor family was legendary. But from the second she steps foot into their stately mansion, everything changes. Perhaps the events in the past aren't really in the past after all...

This was the kind of book, that's once you start it, you can't put it down. With so much adventure, mystery, intrigue, and of course love, I enjoyed every minute of it. There were quite a few twists that kept me holding my breath and the addition of Alexandra's own original songs, made it a fantastic read. I'm so happy that its going to be a series, because Michele's story has only just begun.

All I can say is I utterly loved it Timeless. It touched my heart, and not a lot of books do that. If it became a movie I would watch it over and over again. I give it five stars and hope that everyone goes out and picks up a copy of this book!

  1. I so want to read this book! It just sounds absolutely fantastic, and I'm intrigued by the time period, the guilded age--I've only ever briefly studied it.
