Review: The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller

What if love refused to die?

Haven Moore can’t control her visions of a past with a boy called Ethan, and a life in New York that ended in fiery tragedy. In our present, she designs beautiful dresses for her classmates with her best friend Beau. Dressmaking keeps her sane, since she lives with her widowed and heartbroken mother in her tyrannical grandmother’s house in Snope City, a tiny town in Tennessee. Then an impossible group of coincidences conspire to force her to flee to New York, to discover who she is, and who she was.

In New York, Haven meets Iain Morrow and is swept into an epic love affair that feels both deeply fated and terribly dangerous. Iain is suspected of murdering a rock star and Haven wonders, could he have murdered her in a past life? She visits the Ouroboros Society and discovers a murky world of reincarnation that stretches across millennia. Haven must discover the secrets hidden in her past lives, and loves, before all is lost and the cycle begins again.

Reincarnation. We've all heard of it, but do we believe its possible? Haven has been having visions since she was a child. Flashbacks from the life of th
e person she used to be, a girl named Constance Whitman. In 1925 Constance and her true love, Ethan died in a fire shortly after they tied the knot. Now Haven can't shake the feeling that she was Constance, and she has been re-born as someone else. At one point the visions did stop, but lately Haven is having a lot of them and decides its all for a reason. She must solve the mystery of her past life and why she is feeling drawn to a guy named Iain Morrow, a rich playboy who lives in Manhattan.

Finally deciding she has nothing to lose, Haven takes her savings and jumps on a plane to New York to find Iain. Once she tracks him down their connection is instant, and she knows she belongs with Iain, just as Constance belonged with Ethan. However there is a lot about her past life that Haven doesn't know. Iain remembers
everything but it appears that he is keeping secrets from Haven.

When all the puzzle pieces are finally in place, it all makes perfect sense. Read this book if you want a good dose of mystery, adventure and most importan
tly LOVE!!!!!!!!

I give it five stars, two thumbs up and its definitely one of my favorite books of this year. The love between Haven and Iain is so sweet and pure and powerful because it transcends time. The Eternal Ones will leave you wanting more, and wishing you had past lives of your own!
