REVIEW: BLOOD MAGIC BY JENNIFER LYON

Publisher: Ballantine Books
Reading Level: Age 18+
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Series: Wing Slayer Hunters #1

In the days when powerful witches used their magic to shield humanity from demons, their guardians were a group of men with preternatural abilities of their own. But when a band of witches gaineddemonic power, the ancient bond was broken, and the guardians became the hunters.

Darcy MacAlister knows nothing of demons or magic. But she's about to discover the truth about her past...and her future. Axel Locke is the leader of the Wing Slayer Hunters and has sworn never to shed the blood of earth witches. But when his sister is cursed by a demon witch, he discovers that Darcy may hold the cure. When the chase begins and Axel and Darcy come face-to-face, this hunter must weigh his soul against his honor–and against his heart.

The best way to describe this book is HOT, HOT, HOT!! ;)

I have to admit: at first, I didn’t really want to read this book at all. The cover looked typical, the synopsis looked typical and I was nervous that it was going to be the same-old, same-old paranormal romance story. But when I noticed that one of my favorite authors, Lara Adrian, had given it a rave review, I knew I had to try it. This book is awesome!

The love story in this novel is between Darcy & Axel (a witch and a witch-hunter). The strong passion between them is instantaneous and powerful from the beginning. I mean, before you even know the entire story, you already want these two to get together! Jennifer Lyon does a fantastic job of describing their feelings and making you feel like you’re right in the middle of all the love. And if that weren’t good enough, when the two characters finally get together, their heat practically leaps off the page…remember followers: this book is most definitely for ages 18+.

To top it all off: as if the love story weren’t good enough, the actual story line of a curse between witches and witch-hunters is both unique and interesting. The transformations of the characters are so cool and fun to read. This book gets a great 5 out of 5!
