Review: Sleepless by Cyn Balog

"Eron De Marchelle isn't supposed to feel a connection. He is a Sandman, a supernatural being whose purpose is to seduce human charges to sleep. While he can communicate with his charges in their dreams, he isn't encouraged to--after all, getting too involved in one human's life would prevent him helping his other charges get their needed rest.
But he can't deny that he feels something for Julia. Julia, with her fiery red hair and her sad dreams. Just weeks ago, her boyfriend died in a car accident, and Eron can tell that she feels more alone than ever. Eron was human once too, many years ago, and he remembers how it felt to lose the one he loved. Eron has always felt protective of Julia . . . but now, when she seems to need him more than ever, he can't seem to reach her . . .

Sandmen are forbidden from communicating with humans outside their dreams. But will Eron be willing to risk everything for a chance to be with the person he loves?"

Imagine what its like to observe the world, but never be apart of it. To hear and see people, but never talk to or touch them. That's what life is like for Eron, because he is a sleep bringer. Eron was alive once, a hundred years ago. When he died at the age of seventeen he was given the option to become a sleep bringer, for a hundred years. Then afterwords he can be human again if he wants to.

So Eron spends night after night visiting his 'charges' and helping them fall asleep. But there is one charge in particular that has always been important to him, Julia. Unbeknown st to Julia, Eron has been her sleep bringer her whole life, always watching over her and loving her. But when Julia's boyfriend dies tragically in a car accident, her and Eron are brought together by fate.

I really liked the way that the author wrote Eron. He was very chivalrous and kind and his love for Julia was real. Eron had been Julia's sleep bringer her whole life, he protected her and watched over her always. This was a fun, fast read and the romance was heart warming. I recommend this book, and give it a thumbs up!
