Review: Deception by Lee Nichols

My Review:

This book was mean to me I tell ya...MEAN! LOL Okay, let me explain to you why? One minute I am sitting down all calm into the story and the next, I am at the edge of my seat with goosebumps running down my arms. Lee Nichols has written us a story that can really raise your hairs! I could not stop reading and with cliff hangers in almost every chapter how can you not want to keep reading? 

Emma is a regular teen age girl trying to have a regular life. Of course things don't turn out that way for her when her parents go on a vacation and never come back. She ends up in the hands of Bennett, her brothers friend who she secretly crushed on since the first time she met him. Emma is confused by everything that has happened especially why Bennett, out of no where shows up and claims to be her guardian. The more time Emma spends with Bennett the more she falls for him. She can not explain why she is so drawn to him and wishes she could just stop loving him. As she slowly begins to learn the truth she can't stop having these visions and seeing the dead. 

She tries to live a normal life in her new school and new state the best that she can. Even with everything she just found out about her life and family. When Emma begins to come to terms with everything in her life and learns to accept everything the way that it is, things take another turn and she finds herself, and the people around her in danger.

I really enjoyed this book and loved that at almost every chapter Lee Nichols had me at the edge of my seat turning the pages faster than I can say hi! I love the characters she created and the world she gave us. This was a very different read for me and you have some parts predictable and some just shocking. I definitely recommend this book. It's a page turner and a must read.
