Hush, Hush by Becca FitzPatrick - Dee

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her...until Patch comes along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment, but after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is far more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.

This book was my first ever about fallen angels. Well I had a little taste of it in Cassandra Clare's The Mortal Instruments, but nothing like this book. I loved Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush, Hush! I read this book actually shortly after it came out and at the time just could not give a review because I would've given the book away lol. I was just so excited over this book I told everyone not to ask me about it unless they wanted to know everything! I finished this book in a day. I could not put it down and I love when a book does that to me. Where all I do is think about the book every second until I finish it lol. Hush, Hush is one of those 100%.

The Characters in this book are so easy to relate too. Nora is just your normal teenager and one day her life completely turns around. Patch, wow... What can I say? I am in love with a fictional character haha. He was so bold and full of himself in a good way that it just made him so sexy! Their love was definitely bad boy falls for goodie goodie.

What I liked the most about this book though was that I could not guess for the life of me what was going to happen next. From page one the Becca pulls you in and I thought I knew how it's going to go, but everytime I thought I knew what was going to happen I was shocked at how off I was!  This book to me was not predictable at all. I was definitely at the edge of my seat with this book. I recommend this book to everyone! I just hope that the second one is just as good or even better. A Must Read!

  1. I totally agree with you!! I totally heart Hush, Hush. The romance was my kind: realistic between two star-crossed lovers. I, too, read The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and enjoyed the Nephilim influences. Hush, Hush was my first book about fallen angels (well, ANY angels period.) I thought Fitzpatrick is an amazing author with a real gift for writing and crafting a well-written story. I've read Crescendo, the sequel, as well. It was just...ah. There are absolutely no words for these books, so let's just say the book is speechless. :) I cannot wait for the third and final book in the trilogy, Silence.

  4. I disagree with this review, but I don't want to be a negative Nancy, so I won't elaborate much. However, this post does a good job explaining one of the bad elements - that it portrays a rape culture in a positive light: http://bookshop.livejournal.com/1032547.html
